What is DevOps

The motto for this work method could be “there is strength in numbers”. DevOps is the combination of different cultural approaches, practices and tools that increase the possibility of an activity to offer applications and services more quickly, evolving and improving the products at a higher rate compared to those that use traditional software development and infrastructure management processes.

In a DevOps model the development team and the operative team are no longer isolated. Those who ensure the quality and safety of a product therefore come into close contact with the development and the operations of the whole life cycle of the application.

These teams use practices to automatise the processes that have always been performed slowly and manually. This also helps the engineers to perform tasks that would have otherwise required the help of other teams independently, thus considerably reducing the human error and lowering management costs.
