Today marks an important milestone for Dreamonkey. For the first time since its launch in 2016, the company is undergoing an official change in leadership, with the departure of the former CEO and founder, Federico Schianchi, and the appointment of another shareholder, Paolo Caleffi, to take his place.
Since December 2025, due to differences in corporate vision that had come to a head over the course of the last financial year, the shareholders have voted in favour of a change. Paolo put himself forward as a candidate with the unanimous support of all the other founders (Francesco Bonacini, Niccolò Menozzi, and Kevin Borghi) and, over the past few months, has worked in close collaboration to plan the schedule for the organisational restructuring to be implemented following the outgoing shareholder’s departure.
With the approval of the remaining shareholders, Paolo’s appointment was accompanied by an administrative overhaul involving the service providers responsible for HR, payroll, tax and social security matters. Alongside these decisions, which will be fully implemented in the coming months, a thorough review of administrative processes has been launched, aimed at greater internal transparency and the optimisation and standardisation of many operational activities.
As one of the founders from day one, Paolo served as the company’s CTO, guiding Dreamonkey’s technological decisions in the field of web development and championing a working approach that paid particular attention, amongst other things, to code quality, the open-source community and the wellbeing of the company team and its staff.
Paolo’s contribution has been pivotal in shaping some of Dreamonkey’s core identity and values, which have guided the quality of the code and the approach to software design. Since the post-Covid period, initiatives such as the company’s strong commitment to the Quasar framework community have enabled Dreamonkey to enter the Canadian and US markets, whilst its growing local presence through Full Stack events and its investment in the Confindustria Reggio Emilia network – launched over a year ago – have allowed the company to engage more effectively with Reggio Emilia’s business community.
The shareholders welcome the new management and endorse the renewal plan agreed upon together, preparing for the challenging period that lies ahead in 2026, characterised by the risks and opportunities that the rise of artificial intelligence is bringing ever more keenly to the technology sector.
